In Drawing and Painting, Media, Studio and Sculpture we will explore the world of Traditional and Contemporary Art. We will study the major artists and influences which have driven the art world. Students will discover the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. We will also discover the diversity of art and cultures throughout the world. Many of the projects we create are culturally diverse and interdisciplinary in content. We will discuss career and educational opportunities available in the arts, and how the knowledge gained through the arts will help in life regardless of personal career choices. I believe that all students can be successful in the art room and that an enriching art experience leads to success in life.
Within this site you will find course requirements as well as research tools to help you complete your assignments. Click on the course title above for individual class expectations and assignments. Click on Resources (Art History Timeline) and ArtLinks to find useful information to help you complete your assignments. For Media Arts it is strongly recommended that you purchase a “flash drive” for class (I can keep this safely in the classroom so that projects can be stored independently). This site will be updated student work and information will be added.
